Vintage Washing Machine
Every Day Matters #28 - Draw an appliance. pencil sketch, watercolor paints, Pigma pen. Sept. 30, 2012.
"From my original photograph, at an antique store in Snohomish, Washington. I remember when I was little helping my Grandma crank the wringer on her old washing machine. Then to hang all the clothes on the line to dry. Even after she got a newer machine, we still hung the clothes to dry. After struggling this week to get a new washing machine after ours broke down, I can sympathize with the effort washing clothes used to be. I even have an old "wash board" that I found stuck next to the laundry baskets. Why do I have that?"
